James Ray Recruitment are proud to be working in partnership with an established building materials based in HU17.

Our clients are looking to employ a Warehouse Operative to join their busy team.

The Role of the Warehouse Operative

As the Warehouse Operative, you will report directly into the senior leadership team.

You will be a key team member responsible for the efficient handling, building, storage and dispatch of company products.

The role requires a proactive and diligent individual with a ‘can do attitude’ who can work effectively in a dynamic warehouse environment.

Key Duties:

Key Responsibilities of the Warehouse Operative

  • Receiving & Dispatching Goods: Efficiently handle the receipt of stock and it’s storage, as well as the preparation and dispatch or orders, ensuring accuracy and timelines.
  • Loading & Unloading of Delivery Vehicles: Safely and efficiently load and unload delivery vehicles.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular stock checks and update inventory records to ensure accurate tracking of all items in the warehouse.
  • Quality Control: Inspect incoming and outgoing goods for any damages or discrepancies and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Maintain a clean and safe working environment by adhering to health & safety regulations and organising the warehouse space effectively.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth warehouse operations.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have:

  • A Strong attention to detail and a methodical work ethic.
  • Hold a full valid Driver’s Licence with access to your own vehicle.
  • Forklift licence & experience – desirable.
  • You must uphold safety standards in all warehouse operations.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Confident in using handheld power tools and able to take on light DIY tasks.
  • Have a good level of spoken and written English (G.O.R).
  • Physically fit to handle manual tasks.
  • Be able to work as part of a team.
  • Previous experience of working within a similar role is preferred.
  • Experience of stock rotation.
  • Competent in completing paperwork.
