We require an experienced Serious Injury Solicitor to join our client’s team in Manchester. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Solicitor to join their Serious Injury/Clinical Negligence team on a full-time, permanent basis. This role would be suitable for a qualified solicitor with 5-10 years PQE, who has significant recent multi-track experience.

The position can be remote (home), office-based or a combination of the two. Office attendance is required a minimum of one day per month, therefore the willingness and ability to travel to Manchester on a monthly basis is a mandatory requirement.

Key Duties:

  • To support the Team Leader in the day to day running of the department, and to provide assistance to colleagues within the team as required, same to be suitably reciprocated
  • Assess liability and quantum to include reviewing medical reports and researching and obtaining relevant case law.
  • To maximise personal billings to achieve appropriate billing performance targets meeting with the income budget/and or forecast for the department
  • Managing a caseload as required to achieve both the above whilst providing excellent client care
  • Regular communication and face to face meetings with clients, ensuring that an excellent level of client service is achieved
  • Instructions and meetings with a multi-disciplinary team of experts for example, medical experts, case managers, care experts, architects, forensic accountants, counsel.
  • Analysis of evidence and research of legal issues on liability, causation and quantum.
  • Drafting documents including statements, pleadings and schedules of loss.
  • Securing early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Ensuring that write-offs and issues with suppliers are kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Using the proclaim system in accordance with the firm’s policy and assisting more junior staff in the proficient use of the system as required
  • Outstanding Fee Earning skills and technical ability in RTA / ELPL /Clinical Negligence
