Job Description:

The post holder will promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop as well as being responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school. Within this role, the school are looking for experienced Teaching assistants who are comfortable with some personal care, who are empathetic and able to support student across all of their lessons in school. It is important that you have a good understanding of SEND within a mainstream schools and experience working with students with special educational needs would be highly desired.

This is a full-time position covering on a long-term basis for the entire academic year. The proposed start of January 2023 but the trust is willing to secure the best fit candidate for the role. This trust requires you to hold a Teaching Assistant qualification, at level 2 or level 3.

Key Duties:

Who is the ideal candidate?

  • Minimum 6 months experience within a SEN setting
  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, at level 2 or level 3
  • Relevant experience working with young people aged 11-18 years
  • Enthusiastic and ability to adapt to difficult situations
  • Calm, resilient and able to communicate well with young people
  • Confident in your behaviour management skills
