Job Description:

James Ray Recruitment is helping an SEN school in St Helens to locate a committed Level 2 or higher SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from Autumn 2024 on a supply basis for one term. With possibility of extension until the end of the school year.

Key Duties:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing education plans
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment
  • Adapt learning materials to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
  • Collaborate with the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other staff members to ensure the holistic development of students

 

Who is the ideal candidate?

  • Previous experience working with students with special educational needs
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with diverse learning needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
