Job Description:

James Ray is working with an academy in Lincoln to find them a SEN Teacher who specialises in SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) needs within a secondary school working with pupils aged 11 -16. The role is starting ASAP on a full-time basis until July 2023. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your own skills and to support vulnerable young people and experience working across a range of key stages/subjects.

Their curriculum is delivered by committed, qualified and experienced staff. Pupils are inspired and enthused to learn, the over-riding aim of the school is to provide an inclusive education which prepares pupils to take a confident and active place in society. They ensure pupils are well prepared to meet the challenges of adult life, including the world of work, continuing education and independent living.

This is a full-time role commencing ASAP until July 2023, at least. It is likely that if you do well in this school, a permanent contract will be offered at the end of the long-term contract. This school is looking for someone who holds QTS and has the experience teaching children with an SEN setting. The salary is MPS1 to MPS6 £25,714 to £36,961, this is dependent on experience.

Key Duties:

Who is the ideal candidate?

  • Have experience teaching within an SEN setting.
  • Hold a PGCE and qualified teacher status (QTS) or be working towards the latter.
  • Have prior experience of working within an educational setting/working with vulnerable young people.
  • Be able to inspire/motivate young people.
  • Be supportive and understanding of individual pupil needs (including an understanding of SEN).
  • Have high expectations for behaviour and academic achievement.
