Job Description:

The position is within a special educational needs school in Manchester. The purpose of the centre is to provide bespoke support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, to enable them to access as much of the mainstream curriculum as possible and realise their full potential.

This is a full-time timetable, covering on a long-term placement for the entire academic year. The ideal start date is September 2024 with the school willing to extend to secure the best candidate for their students. QTS is desirable but not essential. The salary is MPS1 to MPS6 £25,174 to £36,961, this is dependent on experience.

Key Duties:

Who is the ideal candidate?

  • Be suitably qualified and experienced in teaching children with SEND within KS2 & KS3
  • Be passionate in using your knowledge of current theory and practice in teaching and learning, and SEND, to provide a highly effective curriculum delivery, in a stimulating and enjoyable way.
  • Flexibility – things can happen unexpectedly in classrooms/schools and you need to be able to cope with the pace
  • The ability to manage classes and deal with challenging behaviour
  • Patience and understanding
  • To be able to use your own initiative
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Qualification in a relevant subject specialism
