Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager

Key Duties:

• Quantity Surveying:
  • Prepare and manage detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for M&E projects for our Financial Controller.
  • Perform cost analysis, monitor project costs, and identify any potential cost overruns or savings opportunities.
  • Conduct valuations and assess variations in line with contract terms.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor and supplier agreements, ensuring value for money.
  • Assist in managing project cash flow, ensuring timely payments and effective financial tracking.
• Commercial Management:
  • Oversee contract management, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and risks are managed.
  • Support project teams in the procurement process, including tendering, negotiation, and supplier selection.
  • Provide commercial advice and guidance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring commercial objectives are met.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and company policies.
  • Lead commercial discussions with clients, stakeholders, and subcontractors to maintain positive relationships and achieve project goals.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry, with knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of commercial management, cost control, and contract administration.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple tasks effectively.
