Job Description:

James Ray Recruitment are working with an Ofsted rated ‘Good’ Primary Academy based in Brough who are looking to employ a Teaching Assistant to commence after October half term. This is a three form entry, school educating children from the ages of 3 to 11 from the local area and have a team that is absolutely committed to providing opportunities for everyone to be the best that they can be and receive the best education possible.
The position can be offered on a full time or part time basis to be covered during term time only.

Key Duties:

Who is the ideal candidate?
  • Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers
  • Some knowledge of strategies in working with young people with challenging behaviours
  • Awareness of Health and Safety issues in the workplace
  • Experience of working directly with young people in an education or training environment, supporting the learning of students
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with an excellent standard of written and spoken English
  • Ability to interest, encourage, motivate and engage children
  • Ability to work effectively with team members across a wide range of levels and responsibilities
  • Good ICT skills, including a working knowledge of Microsoft packages and the ability to update records and databases.
  • Ability to work using own initiative, exercising good judgement where unsupervised
