Job Description:

James Ray Recruitment is currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Teachers of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) for exciting opportunities in Bridlington and Filey. The successful candidates will teach up to Key Stage 4 within well-regarded secondary schools. We are looking for dedicated educators fluent in one or more foreign languages, capable of inspiring students to communicate effectively in a globalized world.

These are part-time positions, and the successful applicants will be able to teach across key stages to students of all abilities, demonstrating a proven track record of securing outstanding student outcomes. We welcome applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced teachers who wish to broaden their experience in these dynamic and innovative departments.

The schools seeks a candidate who holds QTS and can deliver effective behaviour management. The roles are part-time with proposed start dates of September 2024. The salary ranges from MPS1 to MPS6 (£25,174 to £36,961), dependent on experience.

Key Duties:

  • Plan and teach lessons and sequences of lessons to the class(es) you are assigned to teach within the context of the school’s plans, curriculum and schemes of work in order to achieve target levels for pupils’ attainment, progress and outcomes;
  • Assess, monitor, record and report on the learning needs, progress, and achievements of students.
  • Work with others on curriculum and/or pupil development to secure coordinated outcomes.
  • Participate in arrangements for the appraisal and review of your own performance and, where appropriate, that of other teachers and support staff.
  • Communicate with pupils, parents and carers in accordance with the school ethos, policies.
  • Collaborate and work with colleagues and other relevant professionals within and beyond the schools.
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the schools.
  • Promote the safety and well-being of pupils in accordance with the school’s Child Protection and other relevant policies. Maintain good order and discipline among pupils in accordance with the school behaviour policy.

 

Who is the ideal candidate?

 

  • Have experience teaching Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.
  • Hold a PGCE and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or be actively working towards achieving QTS.
  • Have a genuine desire to become an integral part of an MFL Department.
  • Demonstrate expertise in lesson planning, evaluating, and adjusting lessons/work plans/schemes of work as appropriate to meet student needs.
  • Comply with Health and Safety at Work requirements and adhere to safe working practices.
