As a Mechanical Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising the mechanical engineering team, ensuring the timely and successful completion of mechanical installations, maintenance, and repairs on a range of projects. You will ensure that all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with industry standards and regulations. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires excellent technical knowledge and the ability to manage multiple projects and teams effectively.

Key Duties:

  • Supervise and lead a team of mechanical engineers and technicians on various projects.
  • Plan, coordinate, and schedule mechanical work to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
  • Perform quality inspections and ensure that all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Provide technical guidance to the team and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
  • Ensure that all work is carried out in compliance with health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to communicate progress and resolve any issues.
  • Prepare and submit reports, timesheets, and project documentation as required.
  • Monitor and manage resources, including materials, tools, and equipment, to ensure efficient project delivery.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, with a background in installation, maintenance, or service.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or leadership role within the mechanical or engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and building services.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A solid understanding of health & safety regulations and best practices.
  • Full UK driving license.

 

Desirable:

  • Experience in managing large-scale commercial or industrial mechanical projects.
  • Relevant certifications in specific mechanical disciplines (e.g., HVAC, plumbing).
