James Ray Recruitment are delighted to be working with a thriving specialist law firm, with a national reputation for advising individuals, charities and other not-for-profit organisations, local authorities, public-sector bodies and businesses throughout the UK.

Our client is seeking a Legal Assistant to join their Clinical Negligence & Personal Injury team in Macclesfield. This role will support two experienced lawyers by assisting with both legal and administrative responsibilities to ensure high-quality client service and efficient case management.

Key Duties:

  • Legal Support:
    • Communicate effectively with clients, offering empathetic support, especially in emotionally challenging situations.
    • Draft routine correspondence, reports, and formal legal documents under the supervision of lawyers.
    • Obtain and review medical records, evidence, and other necessary documentation.
    • Attend client meetings with lawyers and assist with preparing materials for case meetings.
    • Assist in managing personal injury and clinical negligence claims, ensuring proper case progression.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the legal team.
    • Organize and manage client files, keeping them updated and in compliance with legal and firm standards.
    • Assist with scheduling appointments and maintaining the lawyer’s calendar.
    • Ensure that all client data and case files are handled with confidentiality and in line with data protection regulations.
  • Client Care & Compliance:
    • Maintain a client-focused approach, delivering exceptional service and ensuring clients’ needs are addressed with care and professionalism.
    • Ensure compliance with legal regulations and firm policies throughout all aspects of the role.
    • Assist in managing deadlines and case schedules to ensure timely progression of claims.
  • Experience:
    • Previous legal experience, ideally in personal injury and/or clinical negligence.
    • Understanding of legal processes and compliance within the legal sector.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong communication and listening skills, especially when supporting clients in sensitive situations.
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Proficiency in IT, with the ability to manage legal databases and software systems.
    • A proactive and solution-focused approach to tasks.
    • The ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Qualifications:
    • A legal qualification or knowledge is highly desirable.
