Job Description:

You will work primarily with students engaged across a range of courses providing the support needed to achieve their programme of study. The post-holder will need to be innovative in their teaching methods and responsible for aspects of leadership within the curriculum.

This position is part time working Mondays and Tuesday per week, starting as soon as possible until the end of the academic year and for the right candidate this position could go permanent. The day rate is £115 – £225, this is dependent on experience.

Who is the ideal candidate?

Hold a Law Degree/PGCE
Previous experience in teaching subject specialism including BTEC and WJEC
Experience working within Further/Higher education
Have a genuine desire to become part of a committed team
Have a passion for teaching with the ability to plan and deliver inspiring lessons

Key Duties:

  • Deliver teaching and learning, ensuring stretch, challenge and engagement of students of all ages and abilities. Collation and submission of financial claims as required to appropriate funding bodies and partners as required.
  • Plan, prepare and update all relevant teaching documentation including schemes of work, lesson plans and online learning materials, using Canvas.
  • Lead, coordinate and support course activities which will support the achievement of curriculum area targets. Accurately carry out the qualification completion process within the departmental systems in a timely manner.
  • Take responsibility and facilitate academic tutorials for students.
  • Be involved in the marketing, promotion, recruitment and interviewing of students, including attending open events, school tasters and enrolment events, amongst other activities.
  • Assess, monitor, and record feedback to students to facilitate their best achievement using the College’s data systems and processes, working to exam board guidelines and quality systems.
  • Support IV/IQA processes within the curriculum area.
  • Contribute to the quality assurance processes and curriculum design within the area.
  • Attend meetings and communicate with colleagues within the curriculum area as and when required.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of subject specialism by attending appropriate professional/vocational updating.
