James Ray Recruitment are working with a lovely, local primary school in Selby, renowned for creating a supportive and welcoming learning environment where every child is inspired to achieve their best. We are looking for a passionate and motivated KS1 Teacher to join a devoted team. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners during their formative early years of education.
Role Overview:
As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire a love of learning in children aged 5 to 7. You will nurture students’ academic and personal development, helping them to build confidence and key skills in a supportive and caring classroom environment. This role is suitable for both experienced teachers and those newly qualified.
The school are hoping for the successful candidate to join them on a full time basis from November 2024 to cover maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with the national curriculum for Key Stage 1.
• Assess, monitor, and track students’ progress, providing constructive feedback to help them achieve their potential.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports children of all abilities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop resources and share best teaching practices.
• Engage with parents and carers to communicate students’ progress and support their learning at home.
• Support the safeguarding and well-being of all students.
• Participate in school-wide activities, events, and continuous professional development (CPD).

Key Duties:

Key Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
  • A degree in education or a related field.
  • Experience teaching in KS1 (Reception to Year 2) is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service) or willingness to undergo this process.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a nurturing learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
