Job Description:

James Ray are recruiting on behalf of an award winning firm who have had significant growth over the last couple of years and is now one of the largest housing management practices in the country.

A vacancy has arisen for a lawyer to join the team in any one of their regional offices (with flexible hybrid working). The role will involve advising social landlords (and other landlords) on a wide range of housing management issues, including:

Possession claims
Injunction claims
Anti-social behaviour litigation and advice
Cases involving the Equality Act 2010 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005
Breach of tenancy claims
Social Housing Fraud
Access injunctions for gas and electricity safety
Failed succession cases
Service charge disputes

Key Duties:

Previous experience of work for social landlords is essential, with experience of acting for housing associations being desirable.

The successful applicant will possess the following skills, which are key to the role:

Strong communication skills with a professional approach to work
Confidence in working directly with clients
An ability to build strong interpersonal relationships
An aptitude for drafting and legal analysis
A team player with a keenness to work collaboratively with colleagues at junior and senior levels
A practical and commercial, ‘can do’ approach to problem solving
Commitment to the social housing sector
