Our clients are seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join their payroll service department.
The Role of the Bookkeeper:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for coordinating and performing all aspects of payroll work, including processing over 300 payrolls monthly for a diverse range of clients. This role involves supervising junior team members, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll processing. The ideal candidate will have prior payroll experience, preferably in an accountancy practice, and proficiency in software such as BrightPay, Sage Payroll, or Moneysoft.
• Coordinate and perform all elements of payroll processing for a variety of clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
• Supervise and support junior team members in their payroll tasks, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Handle auto-enrolment and pension regulator reviews and submissions, advising clients on compliance requirements.
• Manage CIS return submissions, demonstrating an understanding of relevant regulations and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as VAT and Personal Tax, as needed, providing payroll-related support and assistance.
• Stay updated on relevant legislation and best practices in payroll processing, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Assist in client meetings and consultations regarding payroll-related matters, offering expertise and solutions as needed.
