Key Duties:

We are looking for a candidate with 2-5 years experience and a genuine interest in employment law to join the team. The role involves a high level of client contact so you should be a strong, commercially minded lawyer who is capable of dealing with a quick turnover of cases, comfortable advising clients and delivering clear, commercial and practical advice.

Examples of some of the types of duties would include:

  • Dealing with client enquiries and taking initial instructions
  • Advising upon and negotiating settlement agreements, including drafting settlement agreements
  • Advising clients as part of our Protect Scheme
  • Conducting litigation (on behalf of employers and employees) in the employment tribunal, including conducting advocacy if required
  • Assisting senior members of the team with both contentious and non-contentious matters
  • Hosting seminars and assisting with team networking and BD events
  • Preparation of contracts of employment, directors service agreements and staff handbooks
  • Preparing blogs, bulletins, articles and comments external publications
  • Providing corporate support for commercial transactions (including preparation of related employment documentation and advising on TUPE issues) and
  • Advising on general employment issues such as disciplinary, grievance and redundancy issues.
  • Client relationships are key, and so the ability to service the work, form trusted advisor relationships with clients, and deliver to strict deadlines are all essential.
  • Collaboration and teamwork, keeping calm under pressure and having an eye for detail are also critical.

Benefits:

You will be enrolled in their pension scheme under the auto-enrolment regulations, unless you choose to opt-out. The firm’s contribution rate will be 5%, and yours will be 5%.  You may increase the amount of your contribution up to a maximum of 10% under our salary sacrifice scheme. You may also increase your contributions above 10%, but this additional contribution will fall outside their salary sacrifice scheme.

  • You will receive death in service insurance cover at 4 times salary.
