James Ray are recruiting on behalf of a well established and highly regarded law firm with multiple offices in and around Yorkshire. The firm are now looking for an Employment Solicitor to join their Leeds office.

The role will involve managing a caseload of employment matters under supervision and supporting the Partner / Head of Department.

The role is suitable for a NQ – 3 years PQE with experience of employment claimant work and with good knowledge of the employment tribunal process.

The successful applicant will be organised and methodical. Accuracy and attention to detail are essential, as is the ability to work quickly and efficiently to ensure deadlines are met and our excellent client care standards are maintained. They will also be friendly, professional and able to explain technical legal detail with clear and confident communication, both verbally and in writing.

Key Duties:

  • Running a case load of client matters under supervision.
  • Dealing with matters at all stages, from taking the client’s initial instructions through to archiving, in accordance with office and accounts procedures.
  • Obtaining and preparing file documentation.
  • Billing files and obtaining monies due to the firm from the clients and other parties.
  • Dealing with client enquiries
  • Providing support to other fee earners in the Employment department.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • A flexible, pro-active and ‘can do’ attitude.


  • 6+ months experience in a similar role
  • NQ – 3 years PQE or relevant experience


  • Current Practising Certificate for qualified applicants
