James Ray Recruitment are working with a Top 200 Law firm, the largest in East Yorkshire. They have offices throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and require a Dispute Resolution Solicitor to join their dynamic, fast-paced team. A nationally recognised department; you will work with a wide range of clients and have a varied caseload of high quality work, dealing with disputed, complex and/or high value claims for blue-chip well-known national clients, across varied business streams. This role represents an opportunity to develop a niche in energy supply litigation, something that only a handful of firms nationwide can offer.
Such is the scope of work and opportunity within the department, this role would be equally suited to an experienced litigator who can hit the ground running as well as a newly or recently qualified lawyer looking to develop their career in Dispute Resolution.

Key Duties:

  • Client Consultation: Meet with clients to understand their legal issues, provide advice, and assess the merits of their case.

 

  • Case Analysis and Strategy: Analyse legal issues, research relevant laws and precedents, and develop effective legal strategies to resolve disputes.

 

  • Negotiation: Engage in negotiations with opposing parties or their legal representatives to reach favourable settlements or agreements outside of court.

 

  • Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR): Represent clients in mediation sessions or other forms of ADR to resolve disputes without going to court.

 

  • Litigation Management: Represent clients in court proceedings, including pre-trial motions, hearings, trials, and appeals. Manage all aspects of litigation, including evidence gathering, witness preparation, and courtroom presentations.

 

  • Client Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of clients in court or other legal proceedings to protect their rights and interests.

 

  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to keep them informed about the progress of their case, provide updates on legal developments, and address any concerns they may have.

 

  • Risk Assessment: Assess the potential risks and benefits of various legal strategies and outcomes and provide clients with realistic expectations regarding the likely outcome of their case.
