If the answer is yes, then you could be just the right person to join our client’s team for the post of Curriculum Lead (Agriculture and Countryside).

We have an East Riding Education setting in need of a Curriculum lead in Agriculture and Countryside to start in September, on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operational running of these curriculum areas, co-ordinate and leaf on teaching and learning, attainment across the areas and work closely with the Head of department, ensuring that the overarching strategic aims and objectives of the Land based department are realised.

Who is the ideal candidate?

Have a related degree or qualification.
Maths and English at Level 2 (or an agreement to work towards achieving)
Ideally you will hold a level 5 teaching qualification or above.
Teaching and/or training experience
Evidence of positive impact on student outcomes
Evidence of continuous professional development
Up to date knowledge of the vocational sector
Ability to evaluate own teaching and learning
Ability to lead a team in the delivery of a programme of study
Ability to offer appropriate levels of support to staff and students
Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Administration of full-time course
Knowledge of child protection Issues
Able to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with young people
High levels of enthusiasm, Intelligence, and discernment
Emotional intelligence, Professional manner and effective communicator
Willingness to work flexibly in a team,
Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours and appropriate attitudes to use of authority and maintaining discipline.

Key Duties:

  • Role model and create a culture which embodies behaviours aligned to the college’s values
  • Manage the delivery and quality assurance across a range of groups, leading the delivery team to ensure timely delivery of activities related to the planning and quality cycle.
  • To ensure the delivery of team provide regular assessment, feedback, student progress reporting, marking of examinations and the appropriate management and supervision of student educational visit programmes are in place.
  • To plan, prepare and deliver high quality teaching, learning and assessment in line with departmental requirements for c.680 taught hours per year.
  • To ensure that the delivery of team record in an accurate and timely manner data and information, including registers, withdrawals, transfers, assessments, examination results and student progress doe the programme allocated.
  • Take an active role in the marketing activities including providing advice and guidance to students, and lead/participate in promotional events.
  • Set, monitor and be accountable for targets in relation to recruitment, enrolment, retention, achievement, attendance, and other teaching and learning outcomes.
  • To develop existing and initiate new curriculum development.
