James Ray Recruitment are pleased to be looking for a Teaching Assistant to work on a 1-1 basis with a child in EYFS who has complex SEN needs. The role is based within a primary school in East Riding. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background with SEN experience, who values the relationships they build with children. We are looking for someone with a love of learning who are committed to making a difference for children.

This is a full time position covering on a long-term basis for a full term and for the right person, this role may continue into the new year. This role is urgent, we need to find the right person immediately. This school requires you to hold a Teaching Assistant qualification minimum level 2 or above. The day rate ranges from £80 – £100, this is dependent on experience.

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Have great interpersonal and communication skills.
• Be able to use own initiative as well as being able to work as part of a team.
• Have a good understanding of the Key Stage you are working in.
• Have the ability to take the initiative and adapt work to the child or situation.

• Have the ability to work both in the classroom and out of the classroom.

Key Duties:

Who is the ideal candidate?
• Minimum 6 months experience working with SEN children.
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, at level 2 or above.
• Relevant experience working with young people aged 4 -16 years.
• Enthusiastic and ability to adapt to difficult situations.
• Calm, resilient and able to communicate well with young people.
• Confident in your behaviour management skills
• Enhanced DBS Disclosure (or be happy to apply for one)
• Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
